Bio-Bio Region

The Bio-Bio Region is region VIII, an area in the middle of Chile, about 300km from the capital of Santiago. It contains Chile second largest city, the coastal town of Concepcion. Bio-Bio has lovely, undiscovered beaches like Buchupureo. And wild, volcanic areas of the Andes.

The VIII Biobío Region (Spanish: VIII Región del Biobío) is one of Chile's 15 first order administrative divisions. Its capital is Concepción which is the main city of Greater Concepcion conurbation, the second largest urban agglomeration in Chile. It comprises four provinces, and is the second most important region of in the country, after the metropolitan area of Santiago. It is bordered to the west by the Pacific Ocean, on the east by Argentina, on the north by Maule Region, and on the south by Araucanía Region.
